Artique Gallery Market is located in ArtHouse6, with its own entrance at 128 Walnut Street. AG Market is purveyor of Fair Trade, Artisan and Vintage goods. One of their clients' most loved features is artisan soy candles, hand poured in their studio right in the ArtHouse.
Jim and Laura Argenbright are the proprietors, and Jim is the chandler, pouring echo-friendly pure soy wax, with non-toxic cotton wicks, for a long, clean burn. These small batch candles are offered in a wide selection of fabulous scents.
As downtown Johnstown's premiere vintage art dealer, Artique Gallery Market showcases heritage archival prints, a vintage Johnstown photo series, and originals from an array of artists.
AG Market guests can look forward to candle studio tours, shopping events, and engaging hands-on activities.
Artist Marcene Glover is owner and founder of ArtHouse6. She exhibits in NYC and abroad, painting from her Johnstown studio MG Studio On7, on Clinton Street. She formed Windscape Artventures LLC, opening the ArtHouse to host collaborating artists and audience for creative experiences in an artful environment. Nestled in the Laurel Mountains, it is a convenient train stop between the iconic art meccas of Pittsburgh and New York City.
In its first few years, the ArtHouse has fulfilled the vision with Glover, elevating over 60 artists, serving 10 organizations, bringing international recognition to regional artists, and NYC recognition to Johnstown as an arts destination!
ArtHouse Residencies have lead to advanced professional development, collaboration, and mentorship. Some of Glover's like-minded colleagues...master artists and international curators, join in activating the networks, with exhibitions, studio concentrations, creative retreats, excursions, and connoisseur indulgences. Together these AIR activities focus on elevating fine arts professionalism, fostering creativity, and igniting a passion for cross-cultural collaborations.
Spoken word, theatrical readings, musical performances, and artisan highlights animate the ArtHouse. From there, residency artists can go on excursions exploring the region's rich subjects for inspiration! Artists thrive within a guided or self-directed format.
Residencies and retreats are available for visual artists, performing artists, curators, writers, songwriters, and metal artisans. Partnering opportunities are available with State Theater, Center for Metal Arts, Gallery on Gazebo, and many regional Arts organizations.
Jim and Laura Argenbright, proprietors of the in house Artique Gallery Market, manage events. This is exciting for the community and artists, as Jim and Laura curate exquisite private events, live performances, and tastings.
